This course is a basic firearms fundamentals course that will introduce you to a wealth of information on different types of self-defense firearms (handguns). We'll provides easy to understand explanations of handgun nomenclature and the common terms used so frequently. The goal of this lesson is to de-mystify what can sometimes feel like a topic reserved for experts.
If you are new to handguns, this is a great introduction to everything you need to know to start your self-protection journey. Our instructors have over 28 years of experience in the firearms industry.
This course has been structured to ensure a comfortable classroom and range environment. Classroom and range are located in the same building. This course is fast paced and is an optional prerequisite to the three Personal and Home Protection courses we offer to help you understand the basics of firearms ownership, safety, and how it applies to home- or self-defense. The facilities are handicapped-accessible.
Classroom topics include basic handgun fundamentals, understanding semi-automatics, revolvers and modern striker-fired handguns, as well as defensive shooting fundamentals, grip, target alignment and trigger Control.
You will have the opportunity to purchase a copy of "Concealed Carry and Home Defense" in class. I will have a limited supply of books to purchase the day of class at a discounted rate ($25)..

How much does the course cost?
The course is $99.99. We recommend that you sign up early.
What will I need to bring with me?
You will need to fire 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition. You may use your own 9mm handgun, or you may rent one at the range at no additional cost. Ammunition is available for purchase. Hearing and eye protection are furnished.
What will I receive after completing the course?
After successful completion of the course, a certificate is awarded.
What does the class consist of?
Approximately one hour of this two hour course is classroom instruction, with the remaining time spent at the range.
